The Senior Career averages for all those who played for the 1st XI in 2024 are set out in the Table below. The Senior Averages include the Leinster Premier and Championship Leagues, the Leinster Senior Cup and the various iterations of the Leinster League/Cup.
There are a couple of important milestones to note. John Anderson is now within 223 runs of reaching 10,000 senior runs. There are currently only 13 players who have reached this mark in the history of Leinster cricket going back to 1919. The last to achieve it was Jeremy Bray. No Merrion players has ever achieved this feat.
In 2024, Max Sorensen passed the 300 wicket mark. But he still needs 38 runs to reach the 5,000 runs mark and thus qualify for the Leinster Career Batting Honours Board. 36 players since 1919 have taken 250 wickets and scored 5000 runs, including Simon Curley from Merrion.
Finally, mention of Tom Stanton who needs just one more wicket to pass the 200 mark.
