Minor Girls 2021

Commencing the 2021 season with a squad of 10 players, the “Magnificent” Minor Girls grew in number (swelling to a squad of 20), cricketing ability, and friendship over a very successful season.  Despite an early season quarter-final cup match loss to Malahide, the Minor Girls won 5 of their 7 league matches, finishing 2nd to Clontarf, the only team to beat them, in their league table.

Under the co-captaincy of Aoife and Síbha, a total of 14 girls played 3 or more matches – Aisling, Beth, Caitlin, Dorothea, Georgie, Gwendolyn, Jemima, Juno, Maggie, Mihika, Sarah, Trudy. We were delighted that Ashwi and Laura, new to cricket this season, were available to play in our final two matches of the season and look forward to welcoming Florence back from injury and providing Katie, Emma and Charlotte with more match experience next season.
With 17 of these girls still available for Minors next season, there is no telling what next year will bring, but I have no doubt it will continue to be a fun and cricket-fulfilling season!
