A very disappointing batting performance saw Ireland lose the first match of the international series against Scotland. Having held Scotland to 89/9 off their 20 overs, Ireland might have expected to do better but the top order of the batting collapsed entirely with only one player getting into double figures. A partnership between Merrion’s Leah Paul [18] and Celeste Raack [10] managed to bring the scores closer together, but in the end Ireland fell 11 short. Earlier Raack had taken 3/15 in the Scottish innings.
