With one round of games to go, Merrion has qualified three teams for League Finals. The 1st XI are one of only three teams in Open Competitions to have won all their games [the others being Civil Service in D5 and Greystones in D7] and regardless of the result of their match against Pembroke on Saturday, they will qualify for the finals in Sydney Parade on 11th September.
The 4th and 5th XIs are similarly placed and both with a game in hand have already qualified for the D8 and D14 finals.
The 3rd XI [D4] are also in with a chance of getting to a final and are currently in a three way contest [only one point between the teams] with Clontarf 3 and Cork Harlequins in D4. All three teams have three games still to play. None against each other so bonus points could be crucial.
The 2nd XI have no chance of qualifying for the finals but are comfortably mid table and well clear of the relegation zone.
The Womens 1st XI are also in the Pilkington Final on Saturday 4th September v Leinster at Sydney Parade.
