Details of the competition structure for women’s cricket for next season have been announced. Merrion have entered three teams, in Divisions 1, 2 and 4. The 1st XI will also take part in the 50 Over Pilkington Plate.
All in all it is likely to be a busy season with a minimum of 50 scheduled league and cups matches. In the Senior and Juniors Cups Merrion have tough fixtures against Leinster 1st XI and 2nd XI. The 3rd XI takes on Balbriggan 2nd XI in the Division 4 Cup.
The other big news items are that Celeste Raack will captain the 1st XI next season and that Isobel Joyce is returning to the club and will be the Womens Coach fo the year.
