Michael Hingston moves on.

The Management Committee can today confirm that Michael Hingston has chosen to leave his role as Merrion’s Youth Development Officer, at the end of his current contract, which expires at the end of January.

Michael has become such an important and ever-present figure at the club since his appointment in February 2022 and will be missed by players and parents alike. Since joining the club as Merrion’s first year-round Youth Development Officer, Michael has overseen strong growth in youth participation since 2022, with 280 youth members now registered at the club. Meanwhile, there also been team success in the form of a number of Cricket Leinster, league and cup titles being won by various youth teams during Michael’s time at the club, as well as 2 boys All-Ireland titles in the 2023 season.

The Management Committee would like to express its sincere gratitude to Micahel for everything he has done for the club during his time working with us. We wish him all the best as he explores pastures new professionally, as well as personally, as he embarks on the next stage of his life with his young family.

The club will shortly engage in a full-scale recruitment process with a view to appointing its next Youth Development Officer early in the new year, and hopes to retain the nature of the role as a full-time year-round position. Full details of this will follow in the coming days.

All the best Hinky, thank you for everything!
