Message from the Bridge

On behalf of the Men’s 1st team squad, I would once again like to thank everyone for their support throughout our league campaign thus far. In addition, the turnout at our League Cup final had such an impact on the game and gave us a huge performance boost from beyond the boundary.

The Leinster League & Cup double has only been achieved once by the men’s 1st XI in our history (1940) and this Saturday we have the chance to repeat this achievement. Following the fantastic performance of our Women’s 1st XI last weekend in their Pilkington Plate win, we’ll be aiming to make it 2 senior trophies in 2 weekends for the club. Not to forget our 4th and 5th XI playing in their respective finals on Sunday as well.

I would like to ask for one last effort from all members to get down to Sydney Parade on Saturday from 11:30 and show the support that we as a club are now renowned for. The difference that your support makes could be the bit that we need to get us over the line.

There are two other finals involving Merrion teams this weekend. On Sunday the 4th XI take on Tyrrelstown 1st XI at Tyrrelstown Park. At the same time the 5th XI have Tyrrelstown 3rd XI as their opponents in Anglesea Road. Both games start at 12.30. Again your support woud be most welcome.

Finally, best of luck also to the 3rd XI who have two games this weekend and they are still in with a chance of qualifying for their final.
