Last Sunday Holywood made the trip down the M1 to Dublin to take on our Minor and Junior Girls’ Teams. It was a first for the Merrion girls and proved a great start to the season.
Michael Hingston, Merrion Youth Development Officer’ commented
“Merrion CC was a picture, on a glorious sunny day in April and it was fantastic to see over forty girls playing two matches, as part of their pre-season preparations. We were delighted to be able to host Holywood CC (NCU) Girls for the matches at two different age-groups (Minor and Junior) and it was a tremendous effort from all involved to make the event happen. We look forward to holding more of these over the coming years and strengthening our relationship with Holywood CC as well.
Waiting to Bat
Special thank you’s to William Belford and all in the Girls Section at Holywood CC and Saibh Ni Loingsigh and all in the Girls Section at Merrion CC for pulling this altogether and making our guests feel very welcome.”
A veritable feast at the end of the day
This is the first trip of its kind involving Merrion and plans are already underway to make a return visit before the end of the season. Thanks again to Saibh, Lesley Light and all the other volunteers and parents who helped make the day such a success.
