Merrion Open Competitions: Individual Performances 2025

Information on the individual performances of Merrion players in Open Competitions [excluding ISC and T20 competitions] is now to hand.

Stephen Doheny tops the batting league table with the highest aggregate runs and the best overall average. Only six players qualified by scoring 400 runs or more in the season.

Andrew Doheny tops the bowling table with the lowest average runs per wicket [13.50]. Peter Forkin has the highest wicket total and economy rate of those who took 20 wickets or more.

For the best all-rounder we travel down the leagues to the 6^th XI where Chetan Suttraway was the most valuable player on a match by match basis for those achieving over 700 overall points in the season. The highest total points [999] was achieved by Andrew Doheny based on a calculate using the standard 1*Run and 20*Wicket.

In terms of the performance in the field. Only two players achieved 10 dismissals or more behind the stumps. Gurjit Singh has the table by hint of having the higher ratio of dismissals to match as wicket keeper.

Swapnil Modgill and Cormac McMahon head a small table of players who took 10 or more catches in the season.

Finally, the best best performances with bat and ball are set out in the following tables. In all there were nine centuries and seven ‘5 wickets hauls’ in the season. While the number of centuries is one up on the 2024 season, the number of times players took five wickets in an innings was only half the total from the previous year.
