The Merrion Mail 1992

If inspiration is needed to encourage the present generation. Unearthed as part of a trawl of the Merrion archives, the first, and only, issue of The Merrion Mail, published in 1992.

Some famous names, past and present, from among those who have turned out for the club feature in a tongue in cheek account of the exploits of the 3rd XI.

The Season’s Statistics might prompt someone to undertake a ‘where are they now’ column for the website. Also in the archives was an obituary in the Irish Times of Rupert Murray who sadly died in 2006. Rupert turned out for the 3rd XI but was better known as a renowned lighting designer in Irish theatre who also worked on many touring productions including Riverdance.
