Start of Season

The cricket season for 2022 kicks off on the Saturday, 16th April with the 3rd 4th and 5th XIs in action as well as the Womens 1st XI [Pilkington Cup]. At Anglesea Road it is the 4ths who take on Castleknock in the first home game of the year [13.00].

For those thinking of making it down Leroys will be on hand to provide excellent food from their new menu. And of course the bar will be open from mid-afternoon.

It is an early April start for the rest of the senior teams as well. The 2nd XI start up on Easter Sunday [17th April] with an away fixture against Leinster. And to remove any early season cobwebs, the Womens 1st XI and the 4th XI are in action again on Easter Monday – the 4th XI at home.

The 1st XI take on North Kildare to start their season at home the following weekend [23rd April] and the day before the Womens 2nd XI take on Trinity at College Park. Merrion’s 6th XI travel to Swords for their first game the same day.

The last team to get started in competitions [still cooling the Prosecco no doubt] the Womens 3rd XI have their first match away to Terenure on the 9th May.

On the social front, the Taverners [11th May], the Cavaliers [18th May] and the Veterans [26th May] all have home games scheduled in May.
