It is with great sadness that I have to report the death of John Hancock. John came to Merrion in the 1980s with his two sons Angus and James. He was an excellent wicket keeper and even played a few games on the 1st XI where he made his senior debut at the age of 50 and took four catches and a stumping behind the sticks.
John was a great character and very active in the club for a number of years.
